I can’t imagine how horrible their position is, and it will get worse. Trump will ask them to kill protesters, and use our own military against American citizens. Will they defy the commander in chief, or obey and kill countrymen?

Have you watched the handmaid's tale? There's a flashback scene where the main character and her best friend are just walking and come up on a protest where the military opens fire and they have to run and hide... I think about that every other day under tRumps administration.

Yes, Allwood's tale is prescient... It's not certain the US military would obey illegal orders today, but I'd not bet on it.

The BBC wrote an interesting article recently about the power of peaceful protest and how (statistically) it had more chance of succeeding than violence. Good.
