I basically abandoned that place entirely on day one. There is nothing attractive or appealing about it to me. - Even the people who stayed there and didn't come here...I haven't missed them; I just created new following habits here.

I can't really go into it in 300 characters but it takes a lot of time and effort to acquire YEARS worth of followers.

Yep. I mean it really depends on what you’re doing, too. Varying levels of “mattering” but it all matters as much as you need it to; it’s your prerogative at the end of the day

From my perspective, I've created a lot of contacts from grinding on social media. People that don't want to start over on another app.
People that don't need to use social media anymore compared to 3-4 years ago.

It's hard to rebuild that.

That makes plenty of sense. And a starting over on a new app with something to offer is one thing but it’s hard to expect all followers to do the same because their audiences and experiences would be even smaller and harder to start over with. It’s just a needless grind to repeat
