At the time I was the RMIT Union Technician, and yeah, I saw and helped early Matt Finish, Men at Work, Mondo Rock, Stilettoes (they deserved better, they ruled live!), and others. I ended up with a bad back, and memories.

FYI, they were a bit of a one hit wonder. Musically good, but lyrically dull. If you want to listen to forgotten masterpieces, Listen to Jane Clifton leading Stiletto. Licenced to Rage ('70s thrash pop), Bluebirds (silly pop), or Woman in A mans world (a glorious ballad). And they were better live!

Just realised that this is the same person who sang Girl on the Wall! We (all the girls) got dragged into a self-esteem session at school & had this song played at us. Well-intentioned but weird. Think the gym scene with Tina Fey in Mean Girls. Liked the song but it was out of date by then.

I hadn't thought about Jane Clifton for ages, but last week after I'd posted a couple of old Jo Jo Zep and the Falcons tracks someone replied with this song, which I distinctly remembered from the era, but not that Jane was the other vocalist.

A lovely lady as well. During a post Stilettos (Scarlett) gig, the follow spot blew a globe and she was in relative darkness while the rest of the band was in light for half a set. I apologised and expected to be yelled at, but she smiled and said "Shit happens friend".
