The Kurds just want their own state. They've not just assisted the allies Isis but have been around since the year dot. This is the reason Israel support the Kurdish people as they know what is like to not have a homeland prior to 48 and being oppressed for 3000 years.

Yesterday handed the decision to the next administration, as well as the determination in the status of the new government - currently still classed as terrorists. Turkey is clearly behind the government and the operation against the Kurdish militias will have their blessing if not involvement.

Turkey has an age old battle against Kurdish interests and wants the militia pushed out and back into Iraq where it has a semi autonomous province. As the incoming administration is friendly towards Erdogan’s autocratic regime it’s seems they will likely cooperate.

Erdoğan's antipathy towards the Kurds concerned me from the moment it was clear that his tacit support had led to the welcome Assad overthrow. I hoped this wouldn't happen, and still hold some hope, especially as they were a beacon amongst the batshit crazy Islamists.

I think very highly of the Kurds from Northern Iraq. They were compentant allies in the extremist fight, and even during the 2nd invasion. I recommend Roughneck-91 by SFC Frank Antenori for a great war memoir from a Green Beret A-team about the Iraq v2.0

Don’t they just. Borders drawn by powers with no comprehension of regional issues. Kurds are in Iran, Syria, Turkey and Iraq as a contiguous group, but everyone treats them atrociously.

Carbon, One, if not the main reason the new sultan attacks the Kurds in Syria is because of the oil. Erdoğan will do whatever is necessary to stop the Kurds getting a route through to the coast along Northern Syria to export! Think about it.
