I was not aware it went back that far but it makes perfect sense. I can easily imagine him being recruited as a Russian asset that young, he was *always* for sale.
InTourist were the state monopoly covering international tourism. Really detest Trump but this isn’t some slam dunk. Almost everyone who went to the Soviet Union went via InTourust.
I went on holiday to the USSR in 1985, and I too travelled with InTourist. Not because I'm a communist, and not because it was 'the KGB's travel agency', but because it was the state tourism bureau, and the only option.
I'm as worried about Trump as anybody, but this kind of nonsense doesn't help.
Um, I went on a school trip to the USSR in 1986, organised through InTourist. Only way you could travel there. Would be interesting to know why he went though. Not much thaw in Cold War at that time.
