The fishcake scene between Ranma and Mikado from "Ranma 1/2" is a reference to the 1985 romantic comedy "Tampopo" (タンポポ) by Juzo Itami (伊丹十三). In "Tampopo" Tsutomu Yamazaki (山崎努) throws it at Rikiya Yasuoka (安岡力也).
