If the Champions Trophy were hosted in major cricketing nations play games at new or different venues like Darwin, Cairns, Alice Springs, Hobart in Australia or Taunton, York, Canterbury etc in England .
What if the format were to be changed as part of the rejuvenation of 50-over cricket to effectively become the WTC of ODIs?
Rather than a KO tournament, a one-off game that's the culmination of a league table of all 3-ODI series played in a 2- or 4-year cycle between World Cups?
So we have:
* The WTC at the top of a three-tier test league (and then regions below); 2-year cycle
* The CT at the top of a three (or four?) tier ODI league; 2-year cycle
* The ODI World Cup every 4-years
* World T20 intervening 4-years
* Olympic T20 (or T10?) Tournament
