For those of us who are already doing most of these things, I might add check out the "Waging nonviolence" website, with terrific articles, training videos, podcasts and more. They also add a healthy dose of historical and global context. We are not the first to be confronting these problems!
Democrats keep chasing the mirage of bipartisanship, reaching across an aisle that no longer exists. They extend hands, only to be slapped away, hoping to appease the unappeasable,- find common ground with a tyrant.
Every "good faith" gesture? Just another brick in the road to authoritarianism.
As a poor woman who is a blue dot in a red county in a red state whose elected officials are all red, what do you suggest I do. I send petition after petition and get form letters back...
Support others fighting the good fight with your dollars. Every little bit counts, and will make you feel like you are doing some thing which is invaluable!
Same boat here. I think we start small. Keep up the letters, petitions, calls, boycotts, and sharing what you vet. Find another blue dot, connect and build from there.
But most importantly, you have to know what your limit is. 💙🫂
Connect with like-minded individuals. Even in a red county, there are likely others who share your values. Form or join local groups, activist networks, or community organizations

If SHTF, you know what to do: Sabotage, espionage, guerrilla warfare, ambush and assassinations, reconnaissance, infiltration, misinformation, etc are some of the things people can do to fight authoritarianism.

Nonviolent resistance requires courage and training; it involves serious risks. (Legal trouble, injury, death.)
Just like a commitment to armed conflict, a commitment to nonviolence does not shield anyone from danger.
AND it's about twice as effective as armed resistance.
