I prefer what appeared on screen. Probert's design is nice but it looks like what it is: a retrospective attempt to shoehorn in a missing link design, and it looks forced as a result. Sternbach's design is solid and functional, and to me, more believable 🖖
I much prefer the Sternbach design, though one thing I would change to the model is the grid lines.
There are a lot of grid lines on the model and I just find them a bit too busy and dense - Sternbach's blueprints show larger grid sections (fewer lines) which is my preference.
Yes I agree with that too. They seriously overdid that grid. Maybe they decided it would be quicker to do that than paint the traditional Aztec pattern on the hull
Makes a lot of sense. I'd love to one day see an "Designer's Cut" version of the Sternbach design, with the kind of hull textures you'd expect at that point in the C24th (and a suitably bigger-budget interior, too...)
I love the Ambassador class. It’s such a beautiful and simple ship design.
It’s a shame we never really got to see them all that often. I’d prefer seeing them to the Nebula class that seemed to be all over TNG towards the end.

The E-A looks like it was designed to dance gracefully among the stars... The E-C looks like it was designed to bulldoze right through them 😎
