Putting ideas behind a paywall does nothing for the dissemination of those ideas.

The people who are sharing those ideas from your website see value in the ideas.

Libraries are free, find a better solution to generate income.

Readers of Defector like that it isn’t full of intrusive ads and that the writers’ perspectives aren’t compromised by the demands of sponsors. The website you are asking for already exists many times over so there’s no need for Defector to replicate it again.
