This part was particularly hard to read. We had such a lot going for us. And we threw it all away. It doesn’t get any easier to accept the tragedy of that.

We - as a country - have thrown it away. Many of us have had to watch, appalled, as our politicians made ruinous choices without a clear mandate.
And we - who didn’t vote for Brexit - have campaigned tirelessly to lessen the damage and, ultimately, to return. We will continue to do so.

Absolutely that. On a perhaps positive note (perhaps desperate), we have never been more pro European as a nation since that vote.
But sadly, Brexit, like Trump, defines a nation. However many voted against them. However disastrous/dishonest the prospectus.
Our job is to campaign to undo the damage.

Fair point. And of course, Scotland and NI did not vote to leave. Brexit has been an unforgivable abuse of power from the moment that wretched referendum was proposed. It has brought nothing but damage, cost and loss. All we can do is work together to expose it and hopefully, one day, rejoin.
