I really love how this novel is the direct inspiration for what became traditional Japanese tattoos

Many of the characters are described as being tattooed. Since it was incredibly popular in Japan, Kuniyoshi made artwork of many of the heroes including their tattoos. this one is always intimidating because there's just so. so many proper names. and courtesy names. so many names.

I’m gonna keep notes like I did during Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Journey to the West. Hopefully it helps me sort everyone out.

i've been told it helps to remember which Star they're represented by, as that particular epithet never changes.

That's up next after I finish ROTK. (which has taken me forever)

Ironically, podcasting has made me knock out ROTK and JTTW. Been a good motivator + excuse to finish them.
