Wow, it took basically no time at all for AI voices/art to become synonymous with suspect, low – effort crap that serves as the perfect litmus test to prove something is definitely garbage and not worth your time

Why should I spend my time on something that nobody cared to write, nobody cared to draw and nobody cared to voice? Maybe someone halfassed edited it but there's nothing personal or stand out?
I get sucked into watching Youtube shorts once in a while ... I've learned to hear the fake VO and skip to the next thing. I'm too lazy to figure out if there's a block button or something I could press to somehow punish ripped content with AI VO. :I
Yep. When this stuff was breaking into the public eye, I wrote a position paper at work pointing out that AI art and copywriting work the same for a 7-person startup as for a billion-dollar-per year corporation. Which should tell any smart corporate group NOT to use it that way.
I hate how suspicious this has made me. Like, doesn't this album cover have whiffs of AI-generation? Cuz even if it doesn't even the thought that it could repels me and that's a shame. It would even fit the theme but still.
It's explicitly created by DeepAI if you check their bandcamp. I think it's actually the same artist that has painted at least one of their other album covers ("Tim") except for this one it explicitly says he used DeepAI.
Thanks for clearing that up for me. Again, I suspect it might be a thematic choice, though I'd rather they hired an artist to produce an image like this.
yeah given the album title it makes sense, and given that it's by the same artist name and went through the same design agency as previous albums i don't think this took work away from any other artist, but it's still eerie to encounter in the wild
So I talked about the difficulty of tiny team gamdev to one dumbass I know and he suggested going to Kickstarter with just AI-generated images. I should've used some self-immolation gif as a reaction, cause this is an excellent way to completely torch the project and one's credibility forever.
