I feel this way about "stan" and "simp".

Those words have (or had) very specific meanings that have been completely lost since becoming just synonyms for "fan" and "anyone you're even slightly attracted to".

I first encountered the term in a Lucy Show rerun when I was a kid, and as I recall they gave a pretty good summary of the history of the word, and it's movie origin.
