Happy Valentine's Day to you, one disabled person to another. My girlfriend @deadyetkawaii.bsky.social , who is wheelchair bound with SMA, and I are heading out to dinner tonight. I left this for her to wake up to. She is definitely worthy of love, and I'm learning that so am I ❤️

Very cute! Just so you’re aware, the term ‘wheelchair bound’ is known for being an ableist term. Wheelchair user is fine. 🙂

Genuinely good to know! She has never corrected that herself, so I didn't know. I'm disabled but not in the same way (spinal issues resulting in fusion, unknown cause). Reading up on why it's ableist now, I hadn't thought of it that way. Thanks! ❤️

I figured, I know very well that no community is a monolith, as a queer, disabled leftist myself. I mentioned this post to her and asked her why she didn't tell me, she said she doesn't care, personally. She says she sometimes feels bitter about her wheelchair, but she was going to mention to me 1/2
