"Just remember (Michael), when you played, they changed the rules to make it easier for you to dominate... when I played, they changed the rules to make it harder for me" -- Wilt
How about Jordan stayed with the same team until he retired. Then he came back and played with the wizards to teach them how to play. He would have 70,000 it's if he played in LeBrons era
So, under Jordan the Wizards went 37-45, and then 37-45 again, and then he retired and they went 25-57. I don't think he was very good at the job you gave him...
Touché, so then it naturally follow that Jordan would've been playing at an equally high level to Lebron's 39 year old season, except he noticeably wasn't.
On a side note, how successful was Jordan on teams not coached by Phil Jackson? Would it be fair to say he's the Belichek to Jackson's Brady?
For me I think about peak and how long that peak lasted. Jordan’s peak was basically an entire decade even with the baseball experiment. LeBron’s peak was a tad bit shorter, but to your point his longevity and playing at a high level for longer keeps him in the convo. But give me peak Jordan all day
In terms of your second note, that’s a good question and it’s hard to say. Phil definitely unlocked Jordan, but Jordan was starting to become Jordan prior to Phil. But yeah who knows. What we do know is the same Bulls were demonstrably worse without Jordan. Something to think about too.
Jordan won 2 threepeats while taking a break in between to play minor league baseball. LeBron is top 3 and his longevity is incredible, but Jordan is the GOAT.

MJ would ALSO have flourished with that Legendary era of the Cs organization.
Plus MJ plays *both* sides the ball at HOF levels.
My personal pick for 2nd is Kareem.

He came back because of his gambling debts and then his body started giving out
