Was this the night it kicked off in the north West corner, and one of ours got over the fence from the lowfields to try get to them. Made it half way. Those early games with them were like nothing else.

In terms of liveliness I always thought Maine Road was the place. Everybody seemed to know everybody else and even the non football locals were quite stroppy.

You are probably right. The worse we had there was I think the last time we played there. We were staying at a mates house, and after getting chased through the streets away from the ground we ended up in their main boys pub.

Only time I've ever been properly scared was at St. Andrews for that LCSF. Don't know how it happened but two or three of them got in our group going back to the coaches and basically said they were going to brick them and jump on. I was very windy.

My own Leeds memories are 1993 onwards really. I’m well aware of the 1987 Cov semi, but hand on heart had no idea scum had beaten us in a League Cup semi.
When I read Elland Road in the caption I thought must have been used as a neutral venue!

Rangers in the European Cup sticks out more in my memory. Possibly because the Rangers fans were directly behind us in the Family (South) Stand and were hurling spite (and coins) over our heads. I think we got moved to the West Stand for the Man U cup games.
