Welcome all to BlueSky. Now please use it. I know that my own temptation to stay with twitter is primarily because of a collective action problem. If people are going to stay on here it needs to be active.

Moderation policies, if we're lucky? Otherwise, possibly nothing? All social media platforms so far have died off eventually, for one reason or another. Bluesky might end up being due to something else entirely...
Bluesky is active. It's not the same as twitter so you need to take the time to find the feeds and starter packs and labellers and communities because there isn't a single algorithm shoving it in your face. People get more engagement by not suggesting the community they just showed in isn't active
I deleted Twitter almost a year ago. Was mainly using Threads and there's a lot of activity there, but not liking that it's a Meta product. So I also have mastodon and blue sky. Hoping to replace threads now. Can we all just decide which alternative we're going to use?
If @bsky.app builds out the hashtag system to find out information more quickly from the central feed, then they'll have the advantage over other again bc that is twitters secret&flaw, as of now Threads is still an hour behind Breaking News bc its so fragmented, also the reason why people still on X
Otherwise I will probably follow @bsky.app development but still stay on twitter because I'm not shocked if people find out major events 1 hour later on here and Threads and then already read article about it how its so delayed.
My issue is still a flawed hashtag system and I basically come from a bubble I can go outside to see opinions (twitter), to a bubble which is fragmented into a million pieces and there's no general concensus just fragments of threads and opinions, still very convoluted to find info. @bsky.app
But in general, its a good UI and hopefully videos are coming soon. @bsky.app has still ways to go but If they're consistent, there'll be a slow trickle from twitter to bluesky bc Elon continues to dismantle the identity of twitter and for what it once stood.
