One critical way to take action NOW as an active participant in the Resistance is to learn about the branches of the government… how bills are introduced, who can propose a bill (everyday citizens can btw), what voting takes place to approve these bills, and what the President’s role is in all this.

Did you know that 44% of Americans asked did NOT know what political party now controls the House OR the Senate. One-third also couldn’t name one branch of the government.
Here is the source for those statistics: https://www.annenbergpublicpolicycenter.org/americans-know-surprisingly-little-about-their-government-survey-finds/.
A few more q’s to collectively discuss:
👉 How can we interrupt bills from being pushed along that we, the people, genuinely do not want?
👉 Are these bill review work sessions open to the public or closed?
👉 Who is the representative in your district you want to keep tabs on in this regard?
👉 How can you contact them to make your voice heard?
1. A representative sponsors a bill.
2. The bill is assigned to a committee for study.
3. If the committee releases the bill, it is debated and voted on.
4. If the bill passes, it moves to the other chamber of Congress.
6. The revised bill is returned to both chambers for final approval.
7. The President has 10 days to sign or veto the bill.
