The child whose parent PAID for papers to lie about her age and then she was severely injured on the job. I visited Lawrence Mass many years ago and spoke to someone who had been there during this strike. Thanks for the reminder.

A couple years after that, my grandfather was hung by anti-unionists in Chisholm MN because he advocated for IWW having fled from Tsar Nicholas’ Finland and worked in the open-pit iron ore mines to support my grandmother and 4 kids.

The lynching was depicted in the paper as a drunkard who couldn’t continue. My grandfather didn’t drink. Also, afterwards, my grandmother somehow “found” funds to leave MN and set up as a landlady in a guest-house in MI bringing her 4 kids with her, my father one of them.

What stood out was the fact that most of the workers were female immigrants UNDER the age of 18 years old. It was child labor where you could be as young as 14 years old.

I suspect that long term plan w/ the abolishment of the Dept of Education is to put poor teenagers back in apprenticeship trade programs. I heard a conservative radio talk show host say that children have always worked. It was just recently that childhood was extended to 18yrs old.

We won’t need immigrants. We can just make college so prohibitively expensive and get rid of public education that there will be no upward mobility for working class families. They can be the slaves to the factory jobs.

Oof yes, this whole thread. Speaking as a person, not GSUS, I didn’t read all of Project 2025, but I read the entire DoE section. It essentially says that what you just said. It’s not explicit but as you read it, you start connecting the dots
