I tried making a voxel game in godot. It is a bit laggy and have built it using gdscript with SurfaceTool to generate custom meshes. It has been a fun learn π #godot #gamedev

I have used Unity and tried Unreal, both are good. Godot is nice it has similar syntax to python and the workflow is easy to understand. Also itβs open source so you donβt have to worry about companies making profit from indie devs. I would say give it a try!
I think it depends on what you are trying to build. I believe in my limited Unreal experience you can do a lot without having to code, but need to know C++ if you decide to make custom scripts. Gdscript syntax in godot is simpler to read and learn imo. Also 2D is a lot simpler in godot
