This is ludicrous - I think when the game mechanics are obviously designed to communicate a message that shoul dbe considered - if an art gallery hung Coolidge's 1904 painting A Friend in Need - would that be allowed? Or would dogs playing poker meet the same scrutiny?
What an absolute joke. I actually just bought the game on Google Play yesterday and while addicting, it doesn't involve any gambling with real money, whereas 90% of games on the Play store are pure P2W games with obscene ads directed at children primarily.
Why do I get an odd feeling that games like these & Balatro are being attacked for a malicious, real world money related reason and, in my opinion, prevent people from risking their life funds? All because they're games that can't generate a couple extra P2W IRL dollars for the big guy or something?
rating boards mastering ultra instinct to dodge past the gacha, lootboxes, and quite literal for-money slot machine apps in order to slap Balatro and Luck Be A Landlord because they don't make money hand over fist
