We're small D messy & inclusive, but not traitors. It's gaslighting to blame the demise of democracy on Dems & promoting a narrative that Dems aren't strong or winners. Where is the relentless call for the resignation of Trump & the fall of the Republican criminal regime? Editorial writers? Pundits?

The problem isn't the party system it's when a few of those people only think of themselves and their box. When people start seeing others as human beings, and that all humans are entitled to the same rights and privileges, things start to become less messy.

I had a MAGA classmate ask me, "Can you even tell people why you are a democrat?" I could. It starts with inclusivity of the party. We are messy, but we work toward equality for all. We're not there yet, but that goal is worth sustaining the party.

I think there is a subtlety that the Democratic Party tends to miss. Messy INPUT is great - it reflects the true value of diversity. Messy OUTPUT is confusing an ineffective.

. . . diesel fuel, jet fuel, alcohol, even dry-cleaning solvent. Considering some of the places I trekked, that was a real plus.

But the other plus was that what it DELIVERED never varies - a hot, clean flame.

The Democratic Party needs a better filter. Mess in, great. Mess out, fatal.

One of the problems is something I see often here on BSKY. Single-issue extremists couldn't get behind Harris because she didn't represent their positions exactly. In the Primaries, that's fine, that what they're for. But in the General, ANY vote that wasn't for Harris . . .

Politics is messy! The Democratic Party isn't perfect, but I'd rather be a democrat than a heartless repugnant. Instead of complaining, they should work within the party to fix what's wrong.

Well said. Democratic politicians are a diverse bunch, generally sincere, with principles and conviction.

The Republican Party, on the other hand, has become a fascist movement.

If you are not a fascist, you should never vote for a Republican (R), and you should leave the party now if registered.

I especially think right now all of us under the blue umbrella are struggling to figure out what to do. We know we can’t reason with MAGA so it’s easier to blame someone you believe you can reason with. It’s easier than reckoning with the fact that we have very little control at the moment.
