There’s a number of Depo Provera class actions going. One has settled for bone mineral density loss and there’s one going for brain tumours. It’s awful. I wanted to switch from Implanon to provera but my doctor flat out refused because of the side affects. 1

Sounds like you have a decent doctor at least. Lots won't warn about side effects and won't take complaints about them seriously. I worried my daughter would stop trying to find a contraceptive she could live with and end up pregnant in her teens.

I had no idea, so consider myself very lucky that they said something. Not the usual experience with gyno stuff. Sadly, it’s also one of the most common forms used in women with disabilities who often don’t consent. I’d look into other class actions she might get some traction or be able to join.

In her case, the link may be hard to prove. She's fine now but was told it may affect her fertility.
