Dazz has run the site since he was about 13 years old or so! Never knew it would continue to serve people all these years later, or how it would continue to have such a huge audience. It's been going since before MYSPACE!

Curious if this redesign is going to do anything regarding the Custom Mario page incredible bloat (I am part of that problem having submitted so many sprites to that section) 💦

There is no bloat! It is all part of any good gallery. Though if you have any suggestions, we're always open! Any custom section is sure to be overwhelming at a point when it's for such a popular franchise.

The only thing that's really annoyed me about that page is when I want to scroll to find something that little scroll block on the side has gotten thinner as more sheets get added to it. Maybe the page should start with everything closed in tabs? People can open them for what they want.

We're making it easier to collapse them and then open them, but I think we'll always default open so the content is immediately visible to the user. But yeah, we've improved the feeling of collapsing!

An understandable concern, but don't worry; the legacy of the site is something I prioritise, and we won't be changing to UI dramatically.

Been a member of this site since 2008! Used to follow this site, spritedatabase and sprites-inc-co (for Mega Man sprites) for all my pixel art needs, as well as TIGSource. I think Reddit has replaced most of the forums of old, but a tight community like TSR hits different.
