I don't know what it says about the state we're in, but the sanest and most well-rounded take on the TikTok ban comes from an improv comic, and I'm not even surprised.

One of the reasons it’s absurd for the government to play so fast and loose with TikTok is that they’ve allowed several US social media companies to monopolize in a way that leaves us at the mercy of like two insane CEO’s. We need their apps to participate in the marketplace
