I just participated in my first game jam, and it was a fantastic experience! I published the game on Itchio as a downloadable-only version. However, I realized it was challenging to get players to try and rate the game. Next I'll make browser-based, which makes them more accessible.
Gotta find a team who's as serious or casual about it as you are, and decide pretty early on what your scope is and how tasks are delegated. If you can plan that out and stick to it it can be a lot of fun and like you mentioned in your other post, great experience.
That makes sense. I'm not that great at the "finding a team" part, but I am pretty good at planning things out and sticking to scope, which seems to be a bit of a rarity among new devs.
really valuable skill to have! for any given jam though you can usually find a discord server or something that has channels for finding a team, sometimes people make threads advertising their skills too -- feel free to hit me up if you ever need a guy for fast-paced digifu/electronic music
I will be sure to keep that in mind, thank you! And likewise, if you ever need someone for art on something you're working on, particularly things like character design, pixelart assets, and promo art, I'd be honored if you'd consider me for it!
