For most American families—particularly in rural areas—there are no options but public schools. Not just because of cost or not wanting a parochial school, but because non public schools DON'T EXIST in their area.

Yes, and the public school system in the county I live in is at risk of shutting its doors right now due to lack of funding (not lack of students). Three-quarters of the county is owned by the federal government, so no tax revenue comes in.
But when Trump campaigned he often said he was shutting the Education Department. Apparently they are ok with that. Maybe most people in rural areas home school. And those kids grow up to be who the oligarchs want.
Once it’s all sorted, the plan is our kids will go to school in tax exempt christian schools, where they’ll get a good ‘Christian’ education & be thankful for it.
And we’ll do it, because when they’re done, they’ll be the only schools available to people like us!
With every school closure and other unconstitutional cut, rural America needs to know that Trump did it. We need to put Trump “I did that” stickers on every shuttered school and health clinic.
WVa for example. Many counties have 1 high school, 1 middle and 1 elementary. Some counties share a high school. Private schools few and far between. People would have to drive 50 to 100 miles to access an alternative
West Virginia has 55 counties and 4,000 churches. Every one of them can get free money when setting up a bible school named "God's Little Tyke Instructional Heaven Charter School"
Most folks in counties have to drive 45 min to nearest hospital. Many counties just have 1 Doctor , pretty sure backwoods churches that serve 10 or less will be opening charter schools.
Have you been to a church in Wva? Literally neighbors, over 50 and about 10 members per church in most counties. Clarksburg, Fairmont, Mtown, Beckly , Wheeling - possibly. The other 40 counties, not a chance.
The states that are going all out on school vouchers are trying to make education impossible for those under a certain tax bracket. It's one more way to separate the poors from everyone else. Knowledge is power, and education will always be determinative of equity.
Education is the silver bullet. Education is everything. Pre k through College or Vocational School should be free to everyone. Funded like we pay for the military.
I’m in a mid-size Texas city and the only private schools are religious, and not my religion. 🤷🏼♀️ the district closed a charter school mid-year because of funding and that’s before vouchers. My oldest is in kindergarten. Really looking forward to the next 20yrs! 😅

These are the folks that need to suffer the consequences of their vote
