Omg I’ve had mine sitting in a box for ~2 years because bears are such a problem where I live but been desperate to find a friend’s house I can install it at 😂
I had an old N or possibly AC router that I would limit to 2.4GHz with the credentials from my more modern router whenever setting up IoT stuff. Might just need limiting the 2.4 band to 20mhz though instead of the extra faff
Which screws up every thing else I own on running on 2.4. I have a legacy 2.4 802.11g network but I’d rather not use it for this because of the data rate
Fair. I meant to add that I’d swap the router back once the IoT thing had the correct credentials. For some reason they’re often fine connecting afterwards.
Right now I have two devices on that 2.4 forced to 802.11g, an irrigation controller and a pool controller. Minimal data transfer. A 2K video streaming device… might not cut it at distance and degraded signal at 65Mbps
