Yeah I dumped threads yesterday and got this. On the 19th I’m dumping insta and Facebook. I’d love to see meta collapse because of this lol

Yeah true. I think it’s pretty possible though. When Elon bought twitter and ruined it people were leaving in droves because of the bad policy changes and the big influencers and advertisers left the platform because they wanted to save face. Same can happen if we make enough noise about it

The problem is that the influential accounts are mostly just regular folks who have little to offer the world without the platform. It's symbiotic between the influencers and the platform. So they won't leave until/unless a similar platform offers them approximately the same.

Yeah that’s a good point. I think something will come along that’s similar but it may take some time. As far as leaving meta and getting the more consequential advertisers to follow suit, I think the numbers can speak pretty loudly. I just think about twitter and how numbers made an impact

Older person here. Well aware of what’s going on and hate it. However I need to pay my mortgage and a huge part of my business relies on my reach on meta. I can’t afford to dump it, just not possible at the moment. Also saw this yesterday, there is some truth to it.

I'm restarting a business myself, but I don't think meta or its services will be useful to me for my biz. Etsy seems good, and this site can drive traffic where you are from what I've seen. EBay isn't what I used to rely on anymore, and paypal is worse then ever. Better options will come I believe.

I’ve been building a following on meta for over ten years. Etsy is now flooded with ai generated scams, and while they are able to get you to reach an audience, they are also in control of the money you earn. Better to have your own website.

Love it. Said the same. Not letting the only voices be those of hatred and ignorance. Hoping admin of the invaluable, private FB groups I glean from uphold a more significant barrier. Travel groups especially have brought so much value to my life's experiences, I can't imagine my life without them.

Honestly I am in the don't care camp. Their moderation has never been good and clearly the current active fighting of misinformation, if anything is just making it stronger.

Instead of people going on maybe vaccines don't cause autism it's oh they definitely do and "the swamp" is covering it up.
