I read HOUSE ON THE BORDERLAND as a teen circa 1975... I won't say 'scarred for life,' but the experience left me extremely reluctant ever to return to the novel. I did enjoy reading the Carnacki tales some years back. Don't know about NIGHT LAND honestly.
I started it a couple years ago, I got about half way and the slow pace in the middle was wearing on me so I started reading other things on the side and slowly dipped out before finishing it. I've been planning to go back to it, hence this vague indirect bait for opinions π
I actually havenβt read it in its entirety. Just bits and pieces. But Erik Davis recently edited an abridged version which is supposedly a lot more readable
