I do not fully disagree but this kinda oversimplifies human behaviour. People’s reactions when they’re disappointed or vulnerable aren’t always an accurate reflection of their “true character.”

If someone's ability (or inability) to co-regulate themselves, is tied to always having things..

If feelings of disappointment causes them to become unlike "themselves" and they act out-of-character when they're unable to receive whatever, please, pay attention to that. take it so serious.
