Shared! Please can I check how you’re defining intellectual disability? Would it include children with learning differences but a high IQ whose capacity alters during periods of dysregulation?
Unfortunately in the current study children with a learning difference would not be eligible due to the gap in the research the current study aims to fill- however that's not to say future research isnt helpful for the parents/children you mentioned :)
(NICE) criteria for intellectual disability states three core criteria of a learning disability a) the presence of “lower intellectual ability” (usually an IQ score of under 70), b) a significant impairment of social or adaptive functioning*, and c) an onset in childhood.
Thank-you for sharing its really appreciated :) I will post another comment with information from the study information sheet defining ID for the purpose of this study!
