I sometimes wonder if they're cruel or just so uncaring about and so dismissive of anyone they see as "less than." It's shameful, really—and to deny those in need to better accommodate themselves and those who will never, ever know need is an aveirah.

I fully agree. Even here in Utah, a ruby-red rural state that has had mail-in voting for 12 years, the legislature wants to eliminate mail-in ballots. Last November, there was ONE open polling place in my county, with a two-hour wait to vote. There are ~175,000 voters here.
