And the decision is unfortunately by law essentially immune from court challenge (see statute below). As “national security” gets stretched, would be good to see increased scrutiny from courts on these claims.

Yes, I said an "abuse" of the law because I don't think this is a reasonable interpretation of national security. But courts give enormous deference to the executive on what is in our national security interest. Maybe no longer deserved and should change.

Geezus. I also wish Biden had made a different decision. But calling this a case of craven, pathetic betrayal and abuse is pretty over-the-top given the political environment we exist in. Can’t wait to see your observations on what’s ahead under the Mump regime.
