Watched the first ep of ITV's take on The Genius Game, after seeing "Twitter Trends Masquarading As 'News'" about people complaining the "Don't Understand It"
Here is the premise of the show:
Everyone is a Ruthless Bastard. Most Ruthless Bastard Wins!
See? Simple. There's nothing to *not* get!

I really loved that back in the day when it aired and watched without fail but don’t know if I could go back and watch it again now. I’m not really into the ruthlessness and lying part of things anymore, especially on game shows.
Split between immunity games of social deduction (Traitors, The Mole, and as you outlined, Golden Balls) and elimination games (Logic puzzles/quizzes).
All have a shared component of fuckassery and rules designed to get one-up on your opponents.
I spent the episode not looking for someone to root for, but to figure out who is the least irredeemable, which is quite a problem.
