No clear guidance here, you're kind of on your honor. What makes you think it was a cover rather than the OG? If you sincerely don't think it was the original, you're good, but even hearing the original for a split second is sufficient if you recognize it

I thought for sure I would be dead on the cruise, but Virgin didn't play any Wham version of Last Christmas (just a couple of lofi remixes), and the airport in Miami was just playing a smooth Jazz loop in the old Terminal H, so I think I'm still good.

I went to pick up my youngest from dance the other day and one of the older kids' classes was tapping to a remixed version by someone else. Phew.
