Didn’t Shannahan used to do this? Would be like a suspension video where they would break down the play and then explain the ruling and if there were other factors at play; like repeat offender. I think the refs screwed up; maybe out of position to see the point of contact.

I think the worst thing about sports in general is the inconsistency in the application of the rules.

Personally, I am “by the book”. Call the rules. During the season, during the playoffs.

If you allow an exception in one place, you allow exceptions everywhere.

Similar happened tonight during Sharks/Stars. Granlund got slammed in the head really badly, play went on, he got yanked for concussion protocol and no penalty was issued. Not okay. Shocked no one has gotten SERIOUSLY hurt yet.

The league doesn't want to explain things because then calls would have to be consistent, and it's easier for refs to "manage" the game if everyone else is unsure of what calls should be.
