My son has been receiving a SSI check. He turned 19 and applied and got it as adult last year. We got a letter in the mail that they stop his payments last month deeming no longer disable. He will appeal but that doesn't look good. They will not tell us who made that decision. He is autistic.

They told him he might have to reapply and that will take up to 210 days possibly more for it to be reviewed. This was today. His social security was stopped 2/13/25 they waited 30 days to notify us. And now he only has 30 days left to appeal. I am so
Pissed off. They wouldn't even see him today

They always cloth it in the same old bullshit of "there's people making fake claims so we have to cut the funding". Funny thing is that I know someone who made a thing abt never claiming benefits but her husband was on long term sick pay. You can't have benefits but my family can

Unfortunately there's always someone who "knows" someone claiming PIP who is gaming the system 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ which is why they believe anyone claiming it, or UC, are scroungers who just can't be bothered to work!! A lot of it is the media's fault, stories like that have been drip fed for years 🙄

Lots of disabilities are invisible and lots of conditions can be debilitating at times but people can still have "good days", people don't want to understand that!

I've been fighting SSI for eleven years, and if they take it away after finally seeing progress in the system, I won't be able to pay my bills, while I currently can't afford basic necessities. I just wanna live a normal life. I don't want to struggle anymore. Why do they keep making it harder?
