That's how she felt. She would even remove the paintings from the walls of her hotel room to cut down on further distractions.

I cannot write from anywhere but home, and a specific part of it. A few years back I had to change rooms because of reasons, and it took me a while to adjust. Now I can't go back to the other room. This spot is like my office. (I also have to dress to be here, no pajamas. This is my work space.)

I’m right there with you on the dressing. If I’m forced to write/edit from home I must dress like I’m going out. Sweat pants me is not quite as eloquent. 😂

I draw the line at shoes. But if I worked in an office, I would probably try to go shoeless there, too (unless I had coworkers, I'm not an animal )

Home can be too familiar and distracting, easy to find other things to do. Totally get it. Ambient music or noise, door shut, and write one true sentence and go from there man.
