How is it humane or 'liberal' to hand the state *more* power to decide who lives or dies?

Especially when that state is coercive and discriminatory, and has decimated health, welfare and social care services.

Does the UK law in question here have protections for disabled people, unlike the Canadian version? Or are we going to see a rise in coerced euthanasia for the disabled in the UK too?

It does not reference those with disabilities specifically (why should it) as far as I understand it, but the basis for requesting an assisted death is not “suffering” as I think the Canada law states, but “terminal illness” with life expectancy of less than 6 months.
