I didn't think anybody was gonna go. They had talked about moving it due to the inclement weather, I mean, it was pouring, 42Β° & windy.
We just decided (couple of girlfriends)to go drive down there to see if there was anybody there and they were lining the overpass.ππππ
We were worried, too. When a friend and I got to the carpool meeting point, there were only 5 us there, so we all drove together. Luckily our weather was better than yours (cold and windy, but not rainy). But there were an est. 6,000 in Detroit by 1:00, lining both sides of busy Woodward Ave!
Omgoodness! To be part of historyπ to actually be part of history! Amazing.
I scoured the different feeds, trying to find what was going on in MO's capital, Jeff city but didn't see anything. I'm sure they were there. st joe, had 5000 & est. Of 1000 here in a town of 150k in a RED state was good.

Yes; so great to be a part of itπ Iβm from a blue township and Detroit is solid blue! It must be at another level to see people come out there!π
My mother was born in detroit, I mean, we're talking 1918, a little place that was okay, then, called river rouge.π¬ My dad and mom moved to california in the late 40s.
I have relatives in Grosse Isle now. Haven't been to detroit since '60s. They usually came west.
