Thanks, I often paint on linen panels. It's similar to a canvas panel, but the threads on the linen are finer. Linen has a less-rough texture, but it has more tooth than a smooth gessoed panel. The paint can also flow a little easier compared to canvas. The linen isn't that much more expensive.
That said, looking at your art, you are using oil pastels and other thick mediums, so canvas probably isn't a bad choice for you. The large fibers can be an advantage for holding big chunks of paint and medium. It's different for relatively thin oil painting where a finer surface is more desirable.
