Adults want animation. Adults want comics. I have to hope that as the old guard falls away and gives way to newer generations more of those kinds of projects will get pushed and funded. Animation is such a versatile medium, and honestly, it's always been way more visually appealing to me. I have an appreciation for things like makeup and practical effects, but liveaction as a whole is just.. eh. If I want to see a real life human I can just look in the mirror, you know?

I never want any story I create to be done in liveaction. Animation or bust. Especially because it bothers me to see characters lose their identities to the faces of their actors in all the fanart of them. They have their own faces

Live action also gets less interesting when it moves from sets and models to all the FX done in a computer. It becomes another, more limited, type of animation.

It will forever make me facepalm at how insulted James Cameron got when he was asked if Avatar was an animated film with liveaction sequences. Because it IS. Just because it was done in a hyper-realistic style doesn't change that. The disrespect for the medium is real

It's easier to suspend disbelief with a comic or cartoon.

When you're being presented with fantastic concepts, seeing them as static or kinetic illustrations helps you buy into them mentally and let's you get more invested in them.

Watching Scavengers Reign get cancelled by HBO after an incredible first season was just a major blow. Watching Zach Snyder get multiple mulligans for his uninspired, low-rated scifi over the same period really added to the bum out.

I cannot think of a single SFF work where an animated adaptation or GN wouldn’t be the literal best. It solves many limitations of live-action works & would look cool af.
