Iβve been following a similar looking spider for a while - and posted a few photos on here. i observed that it keeps a secondary βhome / caveβ where it tends to hide during the day, when it might be more vulnerable to predators.
Yes! Nice shot! Same species - Araneus diadematus. They were introduced here (west coast USA) around the 1970s I think. Their eyesight isn't so great so I've found their hiding spots are sometimes great and sometimes not so much.. π
