I've been thinking about regional mayors, devolution, SEZs et al. It struck me that this is heading towards 'states', which would then be like USA, all having their own laws, seats of government etc etc...then we're off to the races of USA style politics and politicking, aren't we?

It's highly unlikely, you'll still have a democratic vote. Does that appear to be an extreme view? The implications of corporate rule in the SEZ's, is extreme in itself. You only need to look at privatised utilities, to understand the depth of control, shareholders are prepared to impose on society.

Yes. Neoliberalism is nothing more than Tory on a global scale.
The belief is that you start with the wealth and it trickles down to enrich all.
Except that it doesn't and never did- it's a rationalisation for piggy greed. An innate hypocrisy and nauseous self-justification for parasites.
