Just nato without the US is fine . We already have free trade agreements. Theres no need for more levels for burocracy. Just be good allies and trade partners.
Seven to ten years for a European country to enter the EU. I don't think we qualify as European under any definition. That said, these are what the Chinese call Interesting Times. And that means the rules bend.
A European protectorate may be similar and just as useful.
That'd be golden af, and I say this as an #American and someone who has studied the consequences of expansionism without parity or consideration (i.e. Ancient Rome, Nazi Germany, and some doofus in a POTUS costume who thinks #Canada could be the 51st state).
Hans Island inside Schengen would also guarantee that the brutal Whisky War, which for 50 years wreaked havoc on the navies of Canada and Denmark, will never start again.
I believe it's imperative for all peace-loving people to support this.

At Hans island.
Guess it's enough.
I mean, Cyprus is an island wedged inbetween Turkey and Syria, half occupied by a turk puppet gov.
And it is in the EU.
Rules are flexible, continents overrated.
We can do that.
