yeah I agree. I struggled with those ones. however to me, I have a couple gripes with them that put them there. like the slow pace, the grind fest, and the terrible pokemon selection. don't get me wrong I LOVE hgss but I wouldn't put it in S. just personal preference tho
Glad to see the Ultra versions so high on the list. A lot of people hate them for not being actual sequels but they're still good games. The hand holding/unnecessary cutscenes really hurt them though.
Should research the Legacy game mods, they basically keep the old games with the nostalgia feel but fixes most if the bad parts. Just need your own legally obtained rom file, or so the law says 🤣
Ew gen 5 on the top tiers? I can see their appeal if theyre your first games with no exposure to others. They had an uninteresting starter line up, were more grindy due to pokemon exp values and high levels to evolve.
yeah I can see the frustration with some of the things in gen 5, but it's my opinion and I genuinely love em and they weren't my first games. I actually played them after x and y
Only one I disagree with a substantial amount is Emerald (I'm not a big Gen 3 fan, barring FRLG and the RS remakes), but kind of a based list all things considered.
One note tho, I personally think BDSP are alright, they just got absolutely nothing going for them other games don't do better.
I actually prefer the rom-hacks over any of the main titles. Shout out to all those that have take time and dedication to make those wonderfully insane games.
gen 4 remakes were my biggest and most anticipated pokemon games of my life. they were the biggest disappointment to me. so it's an extremely biased take but it's where I stand 😂
I won’t tell you that you have to like them! I just think the only real hate towards them that’s realistic is that they aren’t remakes of platinum, and are of D/P instead. Otherwise I think they’re perfectly fine.

yeah and that's totally fair! I agree honestly and I could see how you would feel that way. I was just hoping for something completely different, which wasn't their fault. I had too high of expectations bc dppt was the games I grew up with. I wanted to see them in great quality. if that makes sense.
for me, platinum is just a better version of diamond and pearl. I grew up with diamond, but the gameplay is way too slow and platinum has a ton of extra stuff like the distortion world that just kinda lakes diamond and pearl obsolete to me atp
