Trust me, I do a lot of self-reflection and do not take my moral convictions lightly.

I can almost guarantee that the caricature of EA you likely have in your head is different from how the movement and its adherents are in real life.

I could go into the many failings in your assumptions about me but it isn't important. What I would tell you is that your moral convictions aren't the problem and I have no doubt you think about them often and deeply.
You'll either figure out the problems with EA or you won't.

And I have my laundry list of complaints with EA but overall I think it's a cluster of pretty good ideas.

Nobody knows "perfectly" what is going on. But if you start with the assumption that disagreement equals idiocy you aren't going to have a lot of useful interactions that challenge your ideas.
Having a laundry list of complaints regarding EA that is a good start. I've got a crash. Goodnight.
