Even if the outcome is a resounding "Yes" what then?

We left the EU on a "No" vote which turned out to not mean anything.

We simply cannot "rejoin" the EU - it is a lot more complicated than that and the people need to understand what they are voting for unlike the vote to leave.

The Leave campaign never defined what leaving meant - and they won thanks to that approach. I don't see why a future Rejoin campaign shouldn't operate by the same rules. The exact details of joining would have to be negotiated by the government of the time, enacting the mandate.

The people need to know exactly what they are voting for and what will happen unlike the Brexit vote.

If the public think that we should have a referendum on rejoining the EU within the next 5 years then I am certainly not going to object. I don’t agree that 59% of those polled are “senseless”.

Our politicians need to catch up with public opinion a lot faster than they have done until now.

I would like nothing more than the UK to still be part of the EU and voted Remain but I also am being realistic about the UK rejoining.

That's just the number that want a referendum. The number that would vote to Rejoin in such a referendum is likely to be even higher, based on latest polling, although we have to remain wary of interference and misinformation in any future campaign.

It's debatable. On one hand we have seen that referendums can be a terrible way to take national decisions. On the other hand it may be hard to make a future decision to rejoin stick unless backed by a referendum. I'm open minded as to which method we use to get back in to the EU.

That would be waiting for certainty, we are all aware of the risks of tech interference and social media rigging. However, it might be a less of a schism for some. Though I wouldn't hold my breath

Polls need to show a much higher likely pro-Europe vote before a referendum and then application. Frankly unlikely for years, given Farage power in UK and the increasingly obvious problems in Europe right now (France and Germany for starters). Need to be realistic, alas.
